Walnut

Walnut is highly prized for its color and grain characteristics. Walnut’s color can sometimes have a grey, purple or reddish cast and can also range from a dark, rich brown to a creamy brown. Walnut is dense, hard and durable and also takes stains well. Although Walnut has a typically straight grain, it turns wavy towards the roots, so there will always be a wide range of grain pattern with Walnut kitchen cabinets. Most Walnut cabinets will show burls, strips and curls. Walnut comes in a variety of stains and will lighten or bleach over time or if in direct sunlight.
