Lyptus

Lyptus is growing in popularity as it resembles Mahogany and is dense hardwood that sands and stains well. Lyptus is a hybrid of the Eucalyptus plant grown on plantations in South American that are certified to Brazil’s sustainable forestry standards. Lyptus trees grow to full maturity in 15 years so it is a sustainable wood, much like Bamboo. Lyptus is known for its rich color variation, fine grain and dramatic figure in kitchen cabinets. Because of its primarily rich reddish brown color, Lyptus comes in darker stains. Lyptus darkens slightly over time but maintains an even tone.
