Kathy Smith – San Mateo Designer

Kathy Smith is a native of the Peninsula and graduate of the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Prior to becoming a Kitchen Designer, she was a Creative Services Manager and Graphic Designer for many large Bay area firms. Kathy eventually started her own business, University Graphics, which she owned for ten years.

During the process of remodeling her own kitchen, Kathy discovered that she possessed the eye and the skills, as well as the interest needed to become a Kitchen and Bath designer. Eager to get started, Kathy returned to school and earned an Interior Design Certificate (with an emphasis on kitchen design) and started working at Gilman’s Kitchen & Baths in January of 2004.

Kathy has enjoyed great success in the industry because of the enthusiasm and dedication she brings to each client’s’ individual project. Currently at the San Mateo showroom, Kathy values function as much as aesthetics and consistently produces kitchen and bathroom designs that exceed her client’s expectations. Her vivacious personality and expertise in design make Kathy a designer that her clients keep on coming back to.
