Gilmans Kitchens and Baths

My kitchen contractors are finishing the last bit of my remodeled kitchen today, and I feel obligated to write to you and express my thanks and satisfaction once again to you and Gilman Screens & Kitchens.

Earlier this year I went into the Home Depot EXPO Design store in Oakland with money in my checking account and ready to spend it all on a new kitchen. The people there were utterly apathetic and had no interest whatsoever in my plans. I thought it was a problem with the Oakland store, so I drove to the EXPO Design in East Palo Alto hoping to get better treatment. They were exactly the same: no personal attention and no interest in my plans or satisfaction. Then I went to Lowe's in San Bruno and got pretty much the same treatment.

Nobody would talk to me unless I called to make an appointment, and they seemed interested only in selling me cabinets and then washing their hands of my project. I came home very dejected and remembered that my neighbor had purchased his cabinets from Gilman in 2001. So I drove down and met you. What a difference! You were delighted to talk to me, showed real interest in my kitchen plans, and gave me personal attention that made my whole remodeling project easy.

You may remember the original state of my kitchen. The previous owner had let the kitchen deteriorate for decades, and it was in such bad shape that I thought remodeling would take at least six months. The pastor of my church, who normally never says anything negative, actually described my kitchen as "scary".

But wow! Your design was right on target. It's a brilliant fusion of beauty and functionality. The DeWils cherry cabinets are gorgeous, and your help in selecting countertops has made my kitchen so dazzling that I literally stand in my hallway and admire it. Best of all, you took completer problem ownership of my project, and I never had to worry that I would be left hanging with some unexpected disaster. The contractor you recommended was swift, professional, and unbelievably competent.

Many of my friends have gone through kitchen remodeling, and most of them describe it as a harrowing experience that drags on for months and months and involves shoddy work. My experience with Gilman's and (the recommended contractor) was exactly opposite, and I cannot possibly exaggerate my satisfaction with your work.
